“Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope” Screening

You’re invited to a film screening of Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope, which will be followed by a panel discussion. Join us as we learn about promoting the health and well-being of our children in Galveston communities and reducing adverse childhood experiences and their impact. CEUs and lunch with vegetarian options will be available at no cost. This workshop has been generously underwritten by The Simmons Foundation and the George and Cynthia Mitchell Foundation.

Resilience: The Biology of Stress & The Science of Hope chronicles the promising beginnings of a national movement among pediatricians, therapists, educators, and communities to build better childhoods, prevent childhood trauma, and greatly improve the health of future generations by using cutting-edge brain science to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction, and disease.

Join the Adverse Childhood and Community Experiences (ACEs) Collaborative for networking, lunch, a film screening, and campfire session on how we can build resilience in our community.

  • Rosenberg Library – Wortham Auditorium 2310 Sealy St. Galveston, TX 77550

Eventbrite - Connections of the Heart Gala : Island Carnival

PLEASE JOIN FAMILY SERVICE CENTER IN CELEBRATION OF 103 YEARS OF SERVICE AT OUR GALA FUNDRAISER

To commemorate the legacy that has been handed down to us; a legacy of strength, hope, and community. A legacy of connections…

TPC-SpecialFriendsPlease join us in celebrating our 103rd year by supporting our Connections of the Heart Gala: “Island Carnival”. We will be honoring Kim and Fred Raschke, Community Champions who have dedicated their lives to supporting this community and the health, hope, and healing of its residents.

It is through the generosity of long-time friends and supporters that over 2,250 children, adults and families were given a chance for brighter futures. Children struggling with emotional and behavioral issues found answers. Victims of abuse received support, bringing healing to their lives and first time parents learned how to provide a nurturing home for their babies. Thanks to your support, FSC is recognizing our vision of a community where every child, adult, and family thrives.

Every day, Family Service Center turns lives around with comprehensive and compassionate behavioral health care. As we move in to 2017, your support is needed more than ever to increase access to quality mental health services to all in need in Galveston County. At FSC, we believe it is the tapestry of life connections that creates health for our clients and each other.
