Family Service Center of Galveston
County welcomes applications for two new positions that will provide
a range of mental health treatment, consultation, and education services
to persons with retardation, their families, and the various schools
and agencies that currently serve them. Hurricane Ike had significant
effects on all people in the Gulf Coast region of Texas, and no less
on persons with retardation. The consultants will conduct an assessment
of needs, design services to meet identified needs, and provide on going
mental health support to individuals with retardation, their families,
their communities, and staff members at agencies or schools.
These positions require a master
degree in a mental health discipline and appropriate licensure or eligibility
for such licensure in Texas. The MR consultants will primarily
serve persons in Galveston County, but also in Brazoria, Chambers, and
Liberty counties as time permits. These are full-time positions
with salaries based on educational attainment and relevant experience.
Applicants are urged to send their resumes and letters of interest to
Dr. Phylette Willis, Psy.D., Clinical Director, Family Service Center
of Galveston County, 2200 Market Street, Suite 600, Galveston, TX 77550.
